She was born on February 21, 1932, in Delta, Colorado, and graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1950, where she made many lifelong friends. After graduation, Donna began her career as a bookkeeper at Burkey Lumber in Grand Junction before joining Mesa Federal Savings and loan. She worked there for 26 years, retiring June 1st 2001 after it had become Mesa National Bank, now known as American National Bank. In addition, she worked evenings as a tax assistant alongside different accountants, always admired for her strong work ethic and dedication.

Donna took great pride in her home and loved caring for her yard, often with her beloved schnauzers—Sara, Samantha, and Sadie—by her side. She also enjoyed the theater, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. Some of her happiest days were spent fishing in the beautiful waters of western Colorado and making memories with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son William Richard (Rick) McKay, her daughter-in-law Carol McKay, granddaughters Jessica Smith (McKay) and her husband Chris Smith, Taylor McKay and her husband Nick Solawetz, along with great-grandchildren McKaylan and Ricky Smith. She is preceded in death by her son Timothy McKay and grandson Ricky McKay, whom she now joins in heaven.

Donna will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, and cherished memories will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
