Richard (Dick) Hoisington

March 4, 1944 - June 11, 2026

Richard Raymond (Dick) Hoisington, 82 , of Fruita,  passed from this life Thursday June 11, 2026 at his home in Fruita. He was born March 4, 1944 to Lloyd and Ernestine Hoisington in Fruita. He lived his entire life in Fruita.
Dick graduated from Fruita High School in 1962, and married the love of his life, Joanne in 1962.
They have two children: Patty 1963 and Todd (Diana) 1967. He has five grandchildren: Megan Johnston, Ian Johnston, Molly Hoisington, Rhia Hoisington, and Bear Hoisington. He is survived by his wife, his children, grandchildren, and one brother, Jim of Grand Junction. Two other brothers, Art and Fred, having passed previously.
Dick was an athlete and excelled at wrestling, football, and baseball. He volunteered and assisted teaching and coaching wrestlers from pee-wee league through high school for many years. He also coached junior high football. Beyond school athletics, Dick loved fast pitch softball and was active in playing and coaching his own teams well into his 50's.
He was a renaissance man. He rebuilt cars, designed and built his own house, he even designed and made turquoise jewelry. He was good at so many things, and will be greatly missed.
Above all things, Dick was a good man.
