Dan A. Penny left this earthly realm on August 12th, 2025 while traveling with his best friend/ little brother Bruce Penny, to go play golf, his most beloved pass time. It is certain that he would have had it no other way.

Dan was born in Cushing, Oklahoma to Grace A. and John A Penny. He was the second of four children. He spent his formative years in Grand Valley (aka Parachute) Colorado, graduating from Grand Valley High School in 1969. From the beginning Dan was a rugged, independent, hardworking man. He worked ranches in his high school years and loved breaking horses. After graduation he did a short stint in college and realized that life was not for him. He moved to Wyoming and worked for the Forest Service for a couple of years riding the backcountry, he often spoke of the beauty in the solitude. But, he had a certain wanderlust and he moved east and tested multiple career paths along the way including being a K9 Police Officer (with his amazing K9 partner Baron). His independent nature and natural ability to build anything lead him to open is own construction business building many homes in Florida. He moved back to Colorado in the 90's and continued working in construction building many commercial and residential buildings and developments in Western Colorado. He ended his working career as the facility manager for The Bank of The San Juans.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Grace A. Penny and John A. Penny and a brother Earl D. Penny. He is survived by his sister Charlotte S. Penny, brother Bruce L. Penny (Kay Snider), his nephew Sean M. Penny (Danielle) and great niece Callyn Mae Penny, Linda Penny and his most beloved Life Partner Eddy Davis.

Dan loved life and was known to say " If we do this joyfully with love in our hearts, everything will be just fine.". He will be greatly missed and always loved. No services are planned at this time per his wishes.
