Noelle Goslee Smith, 80, passed away on October 8, 2025 due to injuries from a car crash.  She was born on May 6, 1945 in Ohio to two gifted classical musicians, Ernestine Yount (bass, cello) and George Goslee (bassoon).

At the University of Rochester she met Christian Wyser-Pratte, to whom she was married for 17 years. Noelle played cello for six decades, participating in many Chicago-area symphonies and string quartets. She later married Robert C. Smith, and moved to Grand Junction in 2002 so she could play in The Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra.

A beloved cello teacher, Noelle was also an accomplished black-and-white photographer, a fly-fisher, an adopter of rescued dogs, and a cherished family member.

Her memorial will be Saturday, June 20th, at 10:00 am at a private home.  Contact Snyder Memorials for details and thorough obituary.  Please send donations to the Noelle Goslee Smith Education Fund supporting children's music education:
