Michael Jeans Eubanks was born on February 22, 1948 to Erdie and Eleanor Jeans Eubanks in Sacramento, California, and passed away May 28, 2026 at his home in Grand Junction surrounded by loved ones. Mike lived with Primary Progressive Aphasia and Frontal Temporal Dementia gracefully for five years, admired by those who interacted with him.

Mike grew up with his beloved older brother, Si, as the family lived in Calgary, AB for his school years then moved to Tulsa, OK for high school. He found the joy of living in Colorado when he attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. Upon graduation with a biology degree he joined the Army and served two years as an MP in Germany. While in Pharmacy school at the University of Wyoming he met and married Charlotte McCartan. After Mike and Charlotte graduated with degrees in pharmacy they settled in Grand Junction, in 1978. Their son Sean was born in 1984 and was the joy of their lives. Mike and Charlotte enjoyed 30 years of marriage until Charlotte passed away in 2005. Mike was especially proud when their son Sean followed in their footsteps in 2015 and became a pharmacist.

Throughout the chapters of his life Mike did more than dance to the beat of his own drum, he danced to a rhythm of life not known by many others. He was a cheerful and friendly man who saw the best in everyone. His optimism and love for life was infections, making it impossible to spend 5 minutes with him and not walk away in a better mood.

Mike spent his entire career as a pharmacist at the Grand Junction VA Medical Center, happily serving the Veterans in the community for 37 years. When he wasn't at work he could be found participating in one of the many activities he loved, including hiking, skiing, cycling, working out at Crossroads gym, golfing and playing snooker and guitar. He loved all types of music and attended concerts and music festivals at every opportunity. Always up for the next adventure, he visited Telluride often over the years with family and friends. Mike was a dog lover throughout his life, raising many German Shepards and finally his beloved Lab, Jackson.

In 2015 he rekindled a friendship with another pharmacist, Laura Wilson, and they were married in 2020. They introduced each other to their personal interests and had a wonderful partnership, full of love and many adventures. Mike and Laura traveled together often over the next 11 years, frequently on bicycle trips.

Mike is survived by his wife Laura, his son Sean, his brother Si, and Laura's daughters Elizabeth and Sarah, and grandchildren Melinda, Teddy Kallin and Quinn. He is also survived by many close friends he has made over the years. We miss him terribly but know he is finally at peace. We would like to extend our warm appreciation to the therapists at Family Health West, especially Lisa, Kait and Val, and to home caregivers Melinda and Josie, all who made Mike's final years and days better.

There will be a celebration of Mike's life on Sunday, July 12 at 4:00 PM at Bookcliff Country Club. Memorial contributions can be made in Mike's name to Roice-Hurst Humane Society in Grand Junction or to your favorite animal shelter or charity.
