Jess Burton Cohen of Scottsdale, Arizona, formerly of Grand Junction, Colorado, died peacefully in Scottsdale on May 15, 2026. Jess was born on April 10, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He married Helaine Levy in 1954.

They lived in Grand Junction from 2000 until 2014. Jess was a patron of the Grand Junction Symphony, underwriting a concert every year. He was also a long-time member of the Grand Junction Newcomers club and a member of Congregation Ohr Shalom.

Jess is preceded in death by his wife Helaine. He is survived by his daughters, Wendy Weinberg (Jeff) and Laurie DeWar (Van); granddaughters Samantha Thorse (Dillon) and Dassi Brofman (Michoel); grandson Spencer Weinberg (Sarah); great-grandchildren Miriam and Eliezer Brofman, Ruby and Max Weinberg; and his brother, Don Cohen.
