Soon after arriving in Colorado she met her husband Robert "Bob" Barrett at a church dance and they were later married in the Salt Lake City Temple in August of 1960. After moving to Grand Junction she worked at St. Mary's Hospital for decades as a 'med/surg' nurse and later took on roles as a diabetes educator and discharge planner and after retiring volunteered for years as a patient representative.
Patricia was a wonderful mother to four children, Timothy (Toni), Matthew, David and Elizabeth (Rod). She was devoted to her 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son Matthew.
Patricia was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her local congregation. She and Bob were honored to serve a church mission with the local Bishop's Storehouse and enjoyed helping everyone they could. Her favorite role in church was playing the piano for children in Primary and Sunday School and one could often hear her practicing and singing those songs at home.
Patricia enjoyed walking thousands of laps over many years around Sherwood Park with her dear friend Betty. She cherished her neighbors of over 50 years, Ann and Alice, and their families, as well as the many other kind families on her street.
A service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the LDS chapel at 2542 G Road in Grand Junction.
