Job Description
Palisade Produce is hiring experienced temporary farm workers in the Palisade CO Area. Work will include straining days of pruning (Jan-March) in extreme winter conditions, thinning (May-June), picking & packing (mid July - Oct) in grueling hot summer temperatures, and potentially cleanup work through early November. An hourly wage ranging of $17.84, or the current AEWR, is being offered. Employment depends on performance. We also pay $2.00/box for picking and packing and there is the possibility of a consultation payment after harvest. We offer a three-fourths guarantee per 20 CFR ss655.12(i). Housing is available free of charge if return home is impossible. Supplies and equipment provided at no cost. Transportation and subsistence expenses to the worksite will be provided upon completion of 50% of the work contract. There are 26 positions to fill while departure and return between seasons is possible. The work is arduous and entails constant full day laboring in 100+ degree weather with 25lb peach buckets or freezing sub-zero conditions working on a ladder. Applicants must be capable of climbing and descending an 8’ picking ladder a minimum of 500 times per day with 25lb bucket attached.
